What types of materials can you cut with your dies?

There are a wide variety of materials that can be die-cut. They include plastics, foams, adhesives, cork, rubbers, papers, Nomex, vulcanized fiber, and many other materials.

What does it mean to be an ISO 9000:2008 certified company?

` ISO 9000:2008 is a quality set of requirements. Thrust Industries has created a quality manual that addresses all the requirements of the ISO 9000:2008 quality standards. A third party registrar has visited our facility and audited our processes against the ISO 9000:2008 standards and our quality manual. Thrust Industries has passed this evaluation, and earned certification from the registrar. At a minimum, we are reviewed by the registrar annually.

What is kiss cutting and/or score cut?

There are certain applications, especially with adhesives, where a product should only be cut through to a certain depth. For example, an adhesive may be composed of a layer of paper release liner, a layer of adhesive, a layer of polyester, a 2nd layer of adhesive and a top layer of paper release liner. A kiss cut would cut through all the layers except the bottom layer of paper release liner. A score cut, in contrast, would cut through just the top layer of paper release liner. See Diagram.

How Precise is your die-cutting?

Typical manufacture of steel rule dies state that the tooling is accurate to +/- .005". Parts produced with these tools typically will run at +/- .010" depending on the material type.
